Because I am always on the quest for the perfect shave for many years now, and as such, have always been a Panasonic fan. When I heard about their new ES8109S model, I had visions that my quest may have finally come to an end!My last Panasonic was the ES8078, which I dearly loved. However, it resides in a hotel room bathroom in Denver!

So, in a desire to get a shaver with the much ballyhooed Vortex Cleaning System, I decided to look at the Panasonic ES8109S. I had bought my last Panasonic from Amazon.com, so I looked at them first. No need to look any further, Amazon saved me 66.00, and free shipping! It was a good time to buy the ES8109S!

I've used my new ES8109S shaver for a week now, and I was sold after the very first shave! I got an extremely close shave, (similar to my prior Panasonic) and, to my wonderment, my face was as smooth as silk!

It may sound a little bit on the strange side, however, my face tends to feel sensitive to the touch whenever I have a fresh shave. Well, miracles do happen, because I did not get that unpleasant sensation after shaving with the ES8109S.

The only reasson I can think of is that panasonic has a proprietary curved blade and foil assembly that reduces irritation . Because of this new system, the ES8109S is now head and shloulders above the former top of the line shaver. I had a chance to use the ES8078, and it did not cause much shaving irritation, however, the newer model causes NONE!

I have absolutely fallen in love with the small pop up trimmer on the side of the Panasonic ES8109S. I use it religiously to trim my sideburns, and for getting to those troublesome little hairs that lie flat or are on their way to becoming ingrown. The ES8109S is whisper quiet and has a sturdier feel to it than other models.

The ES8109S shaver has Panasonic's state of the art Vortex Cleaning and charging base. It has been modified a little from its earlier models, however, it uses an identical cleaning cartridge.

This handy system noiselessly cleans, lubricates and fully recharges your shaver. Or, if you prefer, just plug the power cable right into the shaver to recharge it. The cleaning/lubricating solution in the Vortex is made up of a slim cartridge with a detergent based solid that is "activated" when it combined with water in the Vortex base.

Unlike some cleaners, the cleaner is not alcohol-based. Consequently, it won't evaporate over time. This is a big money saver in that you virtually eliminate cost ly refills.
